Abstract
The present study was carried out in the Pirgacha Rubber Garden, Madhupur, and Tangail to highlight the present management and production status of this garden. In 2nd February 1986 for the purpose of spreading of rubber cultivation in Madhupur Garh region rubber cultivation was introduced in Madhupur by inauguration of Pirgacha rubber garden. This garden is under Bangladesh Forest Industries Development Corporation (Boshiuk), 2nd rubber development project. Creation of new garden was started 1987-88 and it run till 1990 in the first stage of establishment of the garden, 2135 acre garden was created in this stage. Besides this, under this project in 1988-89 about 10 acre garden were created in Mithapukur, Rangpur which is connected with pirgacha rubber garden. Now the total area of this garden is 3010 acre and on the point of view of production it is the highest rubber producing garden in this country. The average annual production of this garden is 1024 Metric ton. The management of this garden is satisfactory it could be managed in more systematically. It is a beneficial rubber garden because it can achieve its annual target of the production and no loss was noticed in last five years of marketing of products. This garden could be more potential for our country if the whole production process including tapping, rolling, smoking and grading of rubber is done more scientific way.
